Microsoft announced that it has restored most of its application services, including Outlook and Teams, impacted by the reported outages on Monday morning.

In a statement on X at about 11 p.m. ET, Microsoft said it “restored functionality for all impacted services except Outlook on the web, which is still affected for a small number of users.”

The statement added that the company is investigating outstanding issues with Outlook on the web and mail queueing delays.

The company initially reported an issue that impacted access to Exchange Online “or functionality within Microsoft Teams Calendar.”

Outages started Monday morning

DownDetector, an online service that tracks tech outages, began reporting outages, which appear to be impacting people globally, about 8 a.m. ET on Monday.

Just before 11 a.m. ET the online service showed thousands of people had reported problems, some who posted the interruption on social media.

This comes after Microsoft 365 outages a few months ago in September.

Users posted about the outages on social media

“#Microsoft outages to my planned productive work day,” one user wrote on X. “Phone calls and handwriting may yet restore some order.”

Another user wrote, “As much as I appreciate a chill work day. Microsoft, I need you guys to fix this Outlook outage fr . A girl is trying to push out all her work before this holiday.”
